Programs / Supported Non-Profits

1
Anti-Virus Youth Education

The MFF is funding a character and values program for 6th graders in Lexington. We are currently in Crawford Middle, EJ Hayes Middle, and Windburn Middle. We are working to add more schools each semester with a big picture goal of every 6th grade student in the city completing our program. Anti-Virus Character Values is a character based product from an organization called Global Priority Solutions. Our professionally trained mentors spend 10 weeks working with students on cultivating strong values (i.e. responsibility and ambition).

2
M.A.D.E.

The MFF supports M.A.D.E. (Motivated All Day Everyday), a community program designed to enhance student academic success and decrease youth violence/gang involvement. M.A.D.E. has had great and proven success at seven Lexington schools and the MFF is excited to help grow this program.

3
God's Pantry

In an effort to simultaneously solve hunger issues and instill strong character in people, the MFF will parter with God's Pantry. We will be sending MFF representatives to teach character and values lessons at the Kids Cafe program which provides free meals and snack to low-income children.

4
The Nest

The Nest Center for Women, Children, and Families is a local nonprofit organization that provides a safe place for education, counseling, and support to children and families in crisis.

5
Lighthouse Ministries

The Lighthouse Ministries is a non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to reaching the low and moderate income population of Lexington, and the Fayette County area, by providing free meals for people in need, and also by providing housing and support for men who are disadvantaged, whether due to recent imprisonment, drug-related issues, or poverty.

The Mitchell Family

The Mitchell Family

Hello from the Mitchell Family Foundation! Jenna and I are so thrilled to give back to the community that has given so much to us! After much time and thought, we created the MFF to provide people with the inspiration, tools, and opportunities to pursue a goal of personal excellence. As our mission statement reads, we believe in strength of character. We believe when our citizens intentionally invest in strengthening their character, self-belief, and leadership skills, our entire community will benefit. With the funds we raise, we will support local non-profits that work hard to lift people out of tough situations. We will continually look for opportunities to provide resources to the community that will aid in the important journey of becoming the best person one can possibly be.

Please take a moment to peruse our website! See our past events, what we have going on currently, and what we have planned for the future. Read and share our character-building blog posts. Last, but not least, please email us with any thoughts or suggestions. We are all a part of this community and we want to hear from you!

Warm regards,
Matthew and Jenna Mitchell
